The independence County Sheriffs Department releases its new website on February 17, 2011.

Users are now able to view a current list of wanted persons, and individuals currently booked into the county jail. We have also implemented a current sex offender registry in order to enable a more informed public.

We have enabled the public to connect with us in many new ways:

• It is now very easy to communicate with an officer on a more personal level. Just view the officers profile  through the contact link, and you can send the officer a direct email message.
• if you are leaving town on vacation, or have some problems in your neighborhood, you can request patrol. We will then do everything we can to pay extra attention to your problem, or watch your home while you are out of town.
• You can now connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin or Youtube directly from the Independence County Sheriffs Department homepage.

By visiting the Criminal Investigations Section of the website, you can learn about some of the crimes under investigation, and you may even have an opportunity to help us apprehend suspects with information you provide about these crimes.

In the Patrol Division section, you can learn about what the patrol officers are up to. We will provide information about high profile traffic zones, and help you become more aware about traffic safety.
