SWAT School April 18-23, 2010

6 days: 75 hours (evening events)

Our SWAT training course is designed to lay a solid foundation for the wide variety of operations and situations that contemporary tactical teams encounter. This course is mentally and physically challenging. Days will run longer than 8 hours and may begin before 0800. Leave your ego at home you will not need it for this week’s training. The “team concept” will be promoted and relied upon at all times.

Successful graduates will walk away with a solid understanding of current and evolving SWAT tactics and techniques as well as identifying each student and teams areas needing improvement. Graduates will also be certified in the deployment of Diversionary Devices (flashbangs) and chemical munitions.

  • Concepts and Skills for Breaching (mechanical/ballistic/explosive)
  • Firearms Skills
  • Deployment of Ballistic Shields
  • Perimeter and Containment Issues
  • Building Clearing
  • Vehicle Assaults
  • Tactical Medical Considerations
  • Downed Officer Extraction

Each Participant Should Bring the Following:

  • Body armor
  • Tactical carbine or subgun w/3 mags
  • Eye protection (clear and tinted)
  • Three point or single point sling
  • Hearing protection
  • 1 pack wet wipes
  • Nomex or Kevlar gloves
  • Hand held flashlight
  • Full tactical personal gear
  • APR w/filter
  • Handgun and three magazines
  • Pen and notebook
  • Holster for same (tactical recommended)
  • Personal hydration (Camelbak)
  • Cold/Wet/Hot Weather Gear
  • Gear bag capable of holding all equipment
  • Simmunition weapon if available
  • Helmet
  • Bedding Material
  • 2 Diversionary Devices (flashbangs)
  • Groin Protection
  • 700 Rifle/Subgun/Shotgun Ammunition
  • 300 Pistol Ammunition
